Tx Planning

Bring dental students from the classroom to the clinic with the axiUm Tx Planning module.

With axiUm’s Tx Planning module, students are able to follow through from patient diagnosis to treatment using this specialized module as an educational step-by-step guide.

How does it work?

Taking students progressively through the treatment planning process, the module begins in guiding students through discussions of their patients’ dental concerns. Students are encouraged to elect a probable cause of problems and propose a diagnosis, working towards determining the objective of their treatment plan and making note of any additional objectives as assigned by the patient and/or faculty members. The students then proceed to plan a course of treatment by matching the problem and diagnosis with possible treatments.

Once approval is obtained, students create a more detailed treatment plan. The Tx Planning module is used to select the exact procedure codes, the teeth which will be treated, and to estimate the cost of the treatment. The students are then directed to develop an appointment schedule for the treatment plan and an estimated completion date, presenting this treatment plan to the patient who can approve all or part of it. The final documentation - including records of the proposed treatments – is then saved to the dental chart in axiUm’s database.

Where your institution can benefit:

Offer hands-on learning with Tx Planning’s step-by-step guide

With the Tx Planning module, students are able to progress step-by-step through planning for procedures, prompted by the module to ensure no elements are forgotten. By allowing students to move through the planning process, faculty are able to monitor student progress as they supervise the class, spending more time assisting rather than lecturing.

Save time by customizing the planning process for different users

As not everyone in the institution will need to complete each step within Tx Planning, the module may be customized based on each users’ needs. Specifically, Tx Planning may be used as an express option for generating treatment proposals by faculty who do not require the additional learning steps within the module.

Monitor student learning with on-site approvals

With axiUm’s ability to be tailored to the specifications of any institution, Tx Planning can be customized to request approval after any step within the treatment planning process. The benefit of requesting either faculty or consultant approval comes from ensuring students are correct before they move on with any further work, giving faculty the opportunity for one-on-one advice if necessary.
